What is Project 365?

I was asking myself that same question when I first read about it. I was checking my email the other day and I received my weekly photography tips from a photography website that I frequent. One of the articles called for everyone to post links to their project 365 sites in the comments section of the article. The concept interested me enough that I began to research and click on a few of the links. It turns out that this concept started back in 2006 with a photographer by the name of Stephen Poff. Here's a link to his article about how it all started if you are interested (I know you're probably not. haha)

Project 365 is a type of photo journal where you take a photo a day and post it for all to see. Stephen Poff began the project by taking a self portrait every day for a year and posted a small little description. It has since evolved to include more than self portraits. It's all up for interpretation and everyone has their own spin on it. One spin-off is to take a picture that has something to do with your day whether it's a self portrait, group photo, a conceptual photo, etc.

So now I have decided to try it myself. Over the next year, I will be taking a picture every single day and posting it here for all to see. I guarantee that there will be some awful pictures posted, but hopefully there will be a few great ones in there as well. So come visit here every day or whenever you can to see how its going. It's going to take some perseverance, patience, and creativity (something I feel like I lack often). Hopefully it will be a project worth watching.

This is going to be a very special year for me. As most of you know, my wife is pregnant and we have a baby due in April. This is another reason I wanted to try this project. It will be nice to have documentation of every single day during the year that my first child was born and to see how life changes in pictures after April. So to start it off, I'm going to leave you with a random video I made of myslelf winning a poker game over Christmas. Enjoy, and wish me luck to stick with this.
